The story
For curling up with a blanket and nowhere to be.
Some evenings call for a blanket, a cup of tea and a sofa that feels like a pile of pillows. The Dauphine is that sofa: low, deep and soft from end to end, with plump tufts that give a little wherever you lean.
Every surface is sewn into square puffs, from the long rolled back to the low, rounded arms, in a nubby woven fabric of natural oatmeal. Small black-stained rubberwood feet sit back under the base, so it seems to rest right on the floor.
The design
Three details that make the Dauphine.
The Dauphine looks simple from across the room and rewards a closer look. These three details explain its shape and its texture.
Plump Tufts in a Nubby Weave
Up close, each square tuft is a soft puff of natural oatmeal fabric, its cream loops on a greige ground giving a fine, flecked texture.
A Back That Rolls Over the Arms
Ten rounded channels form one long back, the outermost two rolling over the low, rounded arms; below, the seat is eight tufts across.
Low and Deep
At 29.5 inches high and 41.3 inches deep, the Dauphine sits low and roomy. Its pale, textured fabric suits pale oak, travertine and a darker accent chair.

Dimensions
Will it fit?
Planning tip. At 94.4" (240 cm) wide and 41.3" (105 cm) deep, the Dauphine needs about 8.5 ft (2.6 m) of wall and a little more depth than most sofas. Keep about 30" (75 cm) of walkway in front and 16" to 18" (40 to 45 cm) to a coffee table. Its box measures 96" x 41" x 31" (244 x 104 x 79 cm), so check doorways and stairs first.
