The story

Its wide back is pale tan top-grain leather, curling back at each end where a round ash rail with carved tips holds it. Four tapered legs of solid ash in a natural finish splay gently outward, and the leather softens and takes on a patina over the years.

The Pauline is a simple dining chair with one carved idea at its back. Look closer and three details stand out.
A Carved Ash Rail
A round rail of solid ash runs behind the back, its ends carved flat and rounded where they meet the leather. It holds the curved back in place and gives the chair its outline from behind.
A Back That Wraps
The padded back is a wide band of pale tan top-grain leather that curves around the sitter and curls back at each end, with a stitched seam along its top edge.
Made for Long Dinners
A 19-inch seat height suits a standard dining table, and the padded seat is filled with foam and polyester fibre. The chair arrives assembled, holds up to 330 lb, and is sold singly so you can order as many as your table needs.
