The story

The Philippine sits you up comfortably: a seat 18 inches high, a tall back that curves around your shoulders and a small lumbar pillow at its base. It suits an hour with a book or a morning coffee by the window.
Its character comes from the wood around it. One rail of ash runs from the front legs back along the arms and curves around behind the back, and the snow-white weave inside it keeps the chair light and quiet, on its own in a corner or as a pair across from a sofa.

Ash Rail on Snow White Weave
Up close, the wraparound rail shows the open grain of ash under a warm brown finish, with softly rounded edges where your arms rest. Around it, the snow-white weave has a fine, nubby surface flecked with oatmeal and pale grey.
One Rail, Four Legs
The rail runs from each front leg back along the side and around behind the back. The front legs rise straight to meet it, the back legs lean back to the floor, and flat, softly arched rails frame the seat.
Bright and Compact

Planning tip. Allow a footprint of about 28" × 28.8" (71 × 73 cm), plus roughly 30" (75 cm) of clear floor in front. A pair with a small side table between them needs about 6 ft (1.8 m) of wall.
