The story
For long Sunday lunches and the coffee after.
Lunch runs into the afternoon, the coffee comes out, and nobody is in a hurry to get up. The Vaneau is an armchair for meals like that: arms to rest on, a curved back that follows yours and a padded seat that stays comfortable after the plates are cleared.
It is pale wood and soft fabric. The frame is solid rubberwood in a light natural finish, with broad, flat arms and straight legs, and light beige woven fabric covers the seat and the front of the curved back. From behind, the back panel shows its wood grain.
The design
Three details behind the Vaneau.
A dining armchair has to be comfortable through a long meal and look good from across the room. These three details cover both.
Pale Wood, Soft Fabric
Light beige woven fabric covers the padded seat and the front of the back, set against solid rubberwood in a light natural finish with the grain showing.
A Curved Back, Flat Arms
The back is a curved wood panel, upholstered in front and bare wood behind. Broad, flat arms with rounded edges curve in to meet the back posts and rest on straight front legs.
Made for the Table
Each chair is 22.3 inches wide and 21.5 deep, with a seat 19 inches wide, and holds up to 300 lb. Sold in pairs; table not included.
